These pieces of personal adornment are worn by aboriginal men passed through a hole made in the septum of the nose. A wide variety of body ornaments ingeniously fashioned from hair, teeth, bones, leaves, shells, feathers and other natural products were worn by Australian aboriginals which were often complemented by carefully, sometimes ritually, painted body decorations.
