Bulldogs sometimes known as ‘British bulldogs’ are renowned for their power and boldness and they have become an emblem, together with Britannia and Churchill, for the tenacity of the British people.
They are strong, smooth haired dogs with large thickset heads and until recently their ears would be cropped so that they would sit erect at the back of their head.
