Ibeji

A fine male twin figure with scars down the side of his face, and a five point hairdo covered with Rekitts Blue. Red and white beads around the neck serve as protection from Shango. He also has red and flat white beads around his waist. Cowries on the left wrist and his body is applied with Tukula powder. Scars are carved coming down from the umbilicus.
19th / early 20th century
Ede. Ife area. Possibly carved by the son of Abegunde of Ede.
