Fine honey coloured smooth patina, the shaft painted with an old inventory number: 11648; possibly an Ex Pitt Rivers collection number.
19th Century
Size: 61cm long – 24 ins long
All Zulu warriors carried knobkerries but those fashioned from Rhinoceros horn were reserved by the Zulu for the ceremonial use of Chief’s and were symbolic of high rank and status.
