There is a very similar octopus lure illustrated in the Oldman
Collection and described as 'a cuttle fish bait sinker, Oahu, Hawaii'.
There is another example in the Dublin Museum that is thought to be
part of the Cook Voyage Collection given to Trinity College, Dublin by
Patten or King, but this is thought to be from Tahiti.
