A Single blue and red beaded star decorates the flap of this pouch and the Lakota Sioux had a particularly sophisticated knowledge of the stars. They acknowledged the existence of ‘significant relationships’ between the stars and certain land forms; the concept of mirroring’. ‘They are the same’ said Stanley Looking Horse ‘because what is on earth is in the stars, and what is in the stars is on earth’.
