Circa 350 – 300 B.C
Size : 9.5 cm high, 15.5 cm wide – 3¾ ins high, 6 ins wide
The decoration on this skyphos is considered to be an owl of the Faliscan 'fluid group'. Owls have always been thought of as the wisest of birds and in the ancient Greek world the owl was the symbol of the Goddess Athene, the Goddess of wisdom.
