Size : 14 cm high , 10 cm wide , 8 cm deep – 5½ ins high , 4 ins wide , 3¼ ins deep
Bacchus was the Roman God of wine and intoxication and enjoyed a considerable cult following . This marble head is reputed to have been found in 19 th century Bath , a town that in Roman times was seriously dedicated to healing and recreation .
