Circa 1870 – 1880
Size : 58.5 cm high , 33 cm dia. – 23 ins high , 13 ins dia.
The extinct Woolly Mammoth ( Elephas Primigenius ) of the northern zones of the world was the size of an Indian elephant , had long woolly red fur and large inward curving tusks . Various species of mammoth were abundant in both the old and new worlds in pleistocene times .
